INSTRUCTION
MODULE INFORMATION BOOKLET
In the first week, Mr. MOHD explained to us the requirements of this module and what each project needs. We learned that these projects will be completed in groups. We have formed a team of six people, and the team members are all from the School of Design. In addition, the lecturer gave us a brief introduction to the meaning of "cross-cultural design" to ensure that we have a better understanding of the final result. In the first week, we finalised the theme of the group project.

Week 2/Investigate and research
We have studied the history of tea culture, collected relevant data on tea culture in China and Malaysia, compared the differences in tea culture between the two countries, understood the historical background of Chinese tea culture, and carefully explored the creative characteristics and historical development of ceramic teacup patterns. In addition, we have updated the details of the group in the spreadsheet.
Week3/Prosentation production
Based on Mr. Zeon's suggestion, we have improved the research on the design theme and produced the final demonstration video.

Weekly Progress
Week1 Teaming and Conceiving
In the first week, we selected our group members from different majors and formed our own group. They majored in clothing design technology and design. Our group number is Group 19. My group members are ZHANG LUPING, JIANG JIAYU, WANG ZIYUE, HU YAOPING, SUN YIDAN and LI JUNWEI. And we have created a Wechat group to facilitate our better communication of the project progress.
We elected Zhang LuPing as the team leader. He voted in the group. From the two themes of the Japanese rail transit system guide view and traditional Chinese ceramic teacup design, I finally chose the theme of traditional Chinese ceramic teacup design.
We decided to use ceramic coasters to redesign the pattern of ceramic teacups.
Week2 Research and Collect Data
We have studied the history of tea culture, collected relevant data on tea culture in China and Malaysia, compared the differences in tea culture between the two countries, understood the historical background of Chinese tea culture, and carefully explored the creative characteristics and historical development of ceramic teacup patterns.
In addition, we have updated the details of the group in the spreadsheet.
We will assign the tasks as follows.
Research and thematic analysis - Wang Ziyue, Jiang Jiayu.
Preliminary design concept - Sun Yidan, Hu Yaoping.
Visual reference and inspiration collection - Li Junwei.
Presentation and proposal production - Zhang Luping.

Week3 Presentation Production and presentation, Submission
Based on Mr. Zeon's suggestion, we have improved the research on the design theme and produced the final demonstration video.
Finally, we uploaded the demonstration video to YouTube, carefully checked the details of the presentation, research proposal and video clip, and finally submitted our project.
A Powerpoint presentation of the proposal that contains
200-word write-up defining and interpreting the theme in relation to the chosen cultural elements.
Citation is necessary as evidence to the research.
A minimum of 3 preliminary ideas in detailed sketches, each with individual rationale.
Visual references (visuals that inspire/influence those ideas).
Reference list.
Demonstration Video
The duration of the demonstration video is 8 minutes and 30 seconds.
Each member speaks in the demonstration video.
Our presentation includes the timeline of our group project, the introduction of the group members, the background of our project, the 200-word reasons, the introduction of related film and television works, the history of ceramic teacups, three original design sketches, more visual references and cited graphic and text sources.
After we finalised the theme, many members contributed their ideas. In the end, I pushed these projects forward. We finally chose to use the glue-dropping process to draw our redesigned ceramic teacup pattern on the ceramic coasters. Everyone agrees with this way of presenting the design.
Through the progress of the project, I have a better understanding of the design style of traditional Chinese ceramic teacups, and I hope to convey and analyse the traditional ceramic design art to more people through this project.
